What's important to look for in a Venue?
Because each and every venue presents their space and fees differently,
here are some key questions you should ask.
What does the rental include?
Some include tables, chairs; some don't. Some have thier own linens, some don't, Some charge for all the above, some don't.
What fees are involved?
Each venue charges differently - some include everything, some don't. Some charge for set up and break down of tables and chairs, some don't. Some charge for tables and chairs, some don't. Some charge for room attendants, some don't. Ask about all the fees you'll be charged before you sign the contract. See what other fees might be included.
How soon can you get in?
Some charge for early arrival, some allow you a set amount of hours. Purchasing additional hours is possible, or converting your partial day rental into a full day would allow you set up time and clean up time. Typically, plan on 2 hours of set up time and about one hour to close down and clean up the event. No matter what your rental is, ask exactly what hours you actually can be in the room and what hour you and your guests must depart.
Is there Set up time included?
If you're planning a 4 hour event - that is not the only amount of time you need. Check with your vendors to find out how much time they need to set up or deliver or produce whatever you've contracted them to do and then check with your venue rental agent and make sure all of this time is noted in your contract.
Are there any kitchen facilities available?
Some venues charge for this, some don't. Some actually have a kitchen, some don't. Some say they have a kitchen, but they mean they have a sink. We already know what most of these facilities offer and it's our policy to be sure we do! If you're taking us somewhere new...we'll be sure to have previewed the facility prior to creating your event.
